Join the Campaign!
It takes nine months to make a baby and for most women, doing the right exercise and eating a healthy balanced diet, it’ll take at least the same to get back on track.
It is totally unrealistic to suggest that new mums will zip back into their pre-pregnancy jeans within weeks of delivery – but celebrity mums are often expected to do just that and society expects all mums to follow.
Much of this pressure women put on themselves but, if media images were more realistic, perhaps women would give themselves and their bodies time to repair at a natural pace with correct exercise information and guidance. If mums do “rush” back or do the wrong type of exercise there is a risk of injury to their joints, abs and pelvic floor.
At Pushy Mothers we want to lead the way in providing safe and specific exercise information that mums can trust. But we also want to change attitudes towards new mums, to stop piling on the pressure, to celebrate motherhood, and to empower women to respect their post-baby bodies.

Britain's mums have had enough!
“I think it’s so important for new mothers to feel free to respect their bodies and the massive achievement that every new baby is and let nature take its course,” Alisa
“I had postnatal depression and being confronted by pictures of celeb mums looking thinner than I ever have within weeks of giving birth did not help – it just added to my feeling of inadequacy,” Rebecca
“Thanks so much for sending out such a positive message. Being pregnant and giving birth gave me a whole new respect for the female body. I put on a lot of weight during my pregnancy, but I know one day soon I will be back in shape. There is simply no rush.. My time now is for my baby, not extreme diets and never ending exercise,” Jackie
“Stop piling on the pressure for us to get post baby weight off within weeks of giving birth,” Claire
